Reviewer l2w2, “Because there has been a shortage of pediatricians on base, most families are given the option to seek medical treatment off base.”

Reviewer therobyn, “Any special medical needs are usually referred to Travis AFB, where we have received great care. I would rate it 4 stars.”

    Pediatric OT, PT, Speech Therapy

Reviewer therobyn, “There are stables on base and it is very cheap to board a horse here. The clinic on base is limited. The BX is okay. The gym is pretty nice and there are 2 pools on base…both outdoors. The base is big but everything is consolidated to one main area. The commissary is nice. The area is remote, but within reasonable driving distance to some pretty great areas. You’re not far from snowboarding and skiing areas and there is a lot to do off-base.”

    General Tips/Info

Reviewer alex714, “Not a bad base but it is a 30 – 45 minute drive to do anything. There is not much on base to do. The houses on base are getting better but living off base is what a lot of people choose to do. Marysville, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Grass Valley, Wheatland, Penn Valley are some of the places most people live. Roseville is pretty close to Sacramento and there is a lot to do in Roseville but is about 30-45 minutes from base. Penn Valley and Grass Valley are a little more up in the foothills. Overall it is a good base.”

Reviewer ttrklarsen, “The family support services are very available, they are friendly and genuinely caring.”

    Did you like living here?

Reviewer ttrklarsen, “There really is a lot to love about this base IF you use the location to your advantage.”
